Is automatic deletion enabled by default?

No. Automatic deletion is off by default and requires an explicit opt-in in General Settings before the scheduled task can be enabled.

Can Reclaimerr delete items without Radarr or Sonarr?

Yes. If the media server supports the action, Reclaimerr can use the server directly. If not, it falls back to local deletion when that setting is enabled.

Why is an item not being deleted?

The most common reasons are:

  • The item is protected.
  • A protection request is still pending.
  • A delete request is already pending.
  • The task is disabled or waiting on the main server.

What does Leaving Soon do?

Leaving Soon exposes a managed collection of items that are approaching their reclaim deadline.

Reclaimerr manages exactly two collections per media server, one for movies and one for series. Both names are configurable under Settings > General > Leaving Soon Collections and default to Leaving Soon [Movies] and Leaving Soon [Series]. The two names must differ, because Jellyfin and Emby collections are global and a shared name would resolve to a single collection.

Renaming a collection in Reclaimerr moves it: on the next scan the collection under the old name is deleted and rebuilt under the new one, so any artwork you set on it is lost. Renaming a collection on the media server instead is not supported - Reclaimerr finds its collections by name and will simply create a new one.

Custom collection posters let you replace the cover art a media server generates from the collection's contents. Upload a JPEG, PNG, or WebP up to 5 MB per collection under Settings > General > Leaving Soon Collections; the image is re-encoded to JPEG, stored under data/static/collection-posters, and pushed to every enabled Plex, Jellyfin, and Emby server straight away. A poster is saved the moment you pick it - there is no Save step for it.

Reclaimerr re-applies the poster on every sync, because Plex deletes and rebuilds these collections on each run and artwork would otherwise vanish. That means Reclaimerr wins against any other tool that manages the same collection's artwork, such as Kometa or Posterizarr. Removing a poster only stops Reclaimerr pushing it: on Plex it disappears at the next sync, while on Jellyfin and Emby the last poster pushed stays until you change it on the server.

Custom collection thumbs work the same way for the landscape (16:9) thumb image that Jellyfin and Emby show in thumb views. Thumbs are bounded to 1920x1080 instead of the poster's 1000x1500, stored next to the posters, and re-applied on every sync. They are Jellyfin and Emby only: a Plex collection's thumb is its poster, so there is nothing separate to set there. Removing a thumb only stops Reclaimerr pushing it; the last thumb pushed stays until you change it on the server.

Collection Sort decides the order of items inside the collection. Server default leaves whatever ordering the collection already has alone, Alphabetical sorts by title, and Leaving soonest first puts whatever disappears next at the front. This is Plex only: Plex stores a collection's order on the server, while Jellyfin and Emby have no equivalent - a collection there is ordered by whatever each client decides - so the setting is ignored on those servers.

Visible on (Emby) adds movie and series rows to every user's Home screen on Emby Server 4.10 or newer. Enable Home screen for all users and save; the next candidate scan creates the rows. Newly added users receive rows on subsequent scans, and users only receive rows for collections with media they can access.

Reclaimerr saves Emby's assigned row IDs, updates existing rows without changing their position or presentation options, and removes its rows before their collections become empty or are deleted. Rows return when candidates return. Turning the option off removes Reclaimerr's rows on the next sync; other Home sections are preserved. Disabling Leaving Soon or renaming a collection also cleans up its managed rows.

How do I troubleshoot task failures?

Check the task history first, then confirm the connected media server is reachable and the main server is configured. If you are behind a reverse proxy, verify the forwarded headers and trusted hosts.

How do I reset the admin password?

Set ADMIN_PASSWORD in the environment and restart Reclaimerr. If an admin account already exists, the password for the first admin account is reset on startup. If no admin account exists yet, Reclaimerr creates the initial admin account with that password.

Remove ADMIN_PASSWORD after logging in.
